I began drawing seriously at the age of 8 when my parents enrolled me in a class that I owe all of my fundamental training to. I studied the human and animal form in all of their various facets. From there I learned to paint with watercolor thanks to the guidance of my grandmother, with whom I spent all of my summers growing up. We would sit outside and paint still life, or nature scenes, and she instilled in me an awe and wonder about the world that allowed me to appreciate its infinite beauty in detail. I painted off and on for many years and then developed a passion for theatre, which I have avidly enjoyed since 1998. My painting took a back seat to theatre for some time but in 2013 I picked up a brush and started experimenting with acrylics and oils, two mediums I knew nothing about. Almost everything I do now is self taught and the birth of 4 Paws Portraits came from a natural combination of all things I'm passionate about: my pets, art, and people!
As a pet owner myself, I know that our four-legged friends are more than companions - they are family! In my work I strive to capture the TRUE ESSENCE of your pet and I guarantee your satisfaction. I will send you a proof of your pet portrait before shipping and if you aren't satisfied, I will either work to perfect the painting, or refund your money. Simple as that!
